Tobash Reminds Flood Victims to Register Damages with FEMA
HARRISBURG – Rep. Mike Tobash (R-Schuylkill/Berks) today reminded people affected by flooding from Tropical Storm Lee that there is still time to register for assistance through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

He stressed that additional flooding that occurred in the area this week is considered to be part of the Tropical Storm Lee disaster declaration, so property owners affected by it need not reapply for assistance but may contact FEMA at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) for a follow-up inspection of any additional damages. People who did not have any initial damage, or those who have not applied for assistance yet, should do so as soon as possible.

“Many families and business owners have a long road ahead of them to recover from this flooding,” said Tobash, who toured flood damage in Pine Grove with Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley on Tuesday. “Many have registered for help, but others have not. I would strong urge anyone who hasn’t registered, including those who may have been affected by the more recent flooding, to reach out to FEMA soon.”

FEMA established a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Pine Grove at the Pine Grove Hose, Hook and Ladder Fire Company, 1 Orchard St. The center is available to help flood victims apply for federal aid, check the status of existing relief applications, find temporary housing and learn about other assistance programs that may be helpful to them.

People can also apply for assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or by visiting

Additional information about flood cleanup is available at, and updates are posted at People with questions may also contact Tobash’s office at 570-385-8235.
