Tobash to Host House Policy Committee Tour, Continues Business Education Partnership Initiative
WHAT: Rep. Mike Tobash (R-Schuylkill/Berks) will host the House Majority Policy Committee for a tour of Solar Innovations with Pine Grove Area High School students participating in the “Your Employability Skills” (YES) program to further learn about employment opportunities in manufacturing.

Solar Innovations is an innovative window and glass manufacturer. Those on the tour will be shown the hurricane simulator the company uses to test new products. The YES program is a career exploration program for high school students where one credit can be earned, and is run by the Northeast PA Manufacturers and Employers Council. It is an elective course that focuses on the development of “soft skills” in which students should be familiar.

WHO: Rep. Tobash; House Majority Committee Chairman Dave Reed and member of the committee; along with Reps. Jerry Knowles (R-Schuylkill/Berks), Ryan Mackenzie (R-Berks/Lehigh), Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon), Dan Truitt (R-Chester), Neal Goodman (D-Schuylkill); YES students and teachers; and Solar Innovations representatives.

WHEN: Thursday, March 20, from 10 a.m. to noon.

WHERE: Solar Innovations, 31 Roberts Road, Pine Grove.

Members of the media are invited to go on the tour. Contact Krisinda Corbin by calling 717.705.2032, or emailing to confirm attendance by the end of the day on Tuesday, March 18.
