Mike Tobash was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in November 2010 with the goals of bringing quality jobs to the Commonwealth and the region, and to reduce the property tax burden for our citizens.
Born and raised in Schuylkill County, he has worked in the family business all of his life and is now the owner of Tobash Insurance Agencies in Hegins, Cressona, Tamaqua, and the Lehigh Valley.

Mike is very active in the community. He currently serves as a board member of Schuylkill United Way and is a charter member of the Tri-Valley Lions Club. He is a past advisory board president of the St. Joseph Center for Special Learning and past board president of the Family Service Agency. He is also a member of the National Rifle Association, Valley View Gun Club, Friedensburg Fish and Game Association, and Trout Unlimited.
He is a graduate of Tri-Valley High School and Elizabethtown College, where he earned a degree in business administration management and marketing.
To accomplish his goals of bringing better jobs to the state and reducing the property tax burden for all Pennsylvanians, Mike believes state spending must be brought under control. He will work to cut state spending by eliminating unnecessary expenditures, stopping unfunded mandates, eliminating earmarks, reducing the size of the legislature and streamlining state agencies, and changing the structure of the state’s pension systems.
In the 2011-12 Legislation Session, Mike will serve on the following House committees: Insurance, Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Commerce and Urban Affairs.
Mike and his wife, Amie, reside in Pottsville with their daughters, Lexi and Mikaela.
